850 watts, up to 90% efficient and fully modular? The title of my post says it all :D

Corsair AX 850

Yeah, you missed the boat by a bit: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1522740

Thread is technically about the AX1200, but the other models are discussed as well. The 750W and 850W models are rebadged Seasonic X-series units, although they unfortunately use Yate Loon fans instead of the much better San Ace fans Seasonic uses in its own-branded units.

If the AX series of Corsair's PSUs are rebadged Seasonics, what are their HX series of PSUs - CWT?

If you had your choice would you pick a rebadged Seasonic or rebadged CWT?

The AX1200 is a custom design manufactured by Flextronics. The other AX units are rebranded Seasonic X-series PSUs. The 750W and 850W HX units are based on a custom-modified version of CWT's DSG platform (the HX650 is a Seasonic). The AX series is decidedly better than the HX series.

It was implied in previous discussions, but are you saying that only the AX1200 uses a Yate Loon fan and the Seasonic rebadge models still use San Ace fans?

The yate loon was used in the AX1200 because it was designed for a 140mm fan and it was the best option at that size.

The AX750/AX850 were modified slightly but the fan is still a San Ace as far as I know.

Looks like a nice PSU. Maybe I'll grab one for my next rig. That reminds me...I need to update the rigs in my sig!
