I was using chrome beta remote desktop app to control my moms PC from my PC for the first time. After, I used app to turn off her PC from my PC. After this was done the next time she turned her pc on her pc said windows failed to start and got message this might be due to recent hardware change and was given option to start windows normally or repair. First she selected to start windows normally but her PC wouldn't boot.Next she tried repair but PC still won't boot. I wonder if chrome deskto app is to blame and I should have signed off remote desktop first and let my mom manually shut down the PC herself. Should she find her W7 dvd and try to repair windows from it? The only W7 disc we have is from a torrent I burned from internet. We do have official xp and vista disks though.

press f8 during start up and then choose the first option "Repair Windows" and make sure the media is in the drive. once the interface loads follow the on screen instructions and once the list appears, choose restore PC
