W7 SP1 on TechNet?

The full streamed ISO's for each is on technet now, but I have not been able to find updaters.

Interesting, it's the first one under both Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 when you sort by date on MSDN.
 
Is it the same hash/checksum as the one that was released/leaked as 'final' a couple weeks back? Or do people who installed that need to uninstall and reinstall again?

That's the x64 one I have, so you should be good. There's also a ia64 and a x86 as well as a generic setup.exe included on the iso.
 
Thanks ND40oz, don't really feel like doing another uninstall/reinstall of the SP, so that's good.

That should be it. I mean that's what I have, and ND40oz said it was the same as his that he presumably got from technet/msdn..Where'd you get yours, technet/msdn? Cuz those are final now.
 
Yah, been running the full slipstreamed "legit" Microsoft ISO for weeks now, with the ei.cfg removed so I can choose the version (which is always Pro for myself personally but...). Build number matches, sfc /scannow confirms everything has a proper digital signature, etc - nothing has changed since they made these ISOs was back on November 19th so that's gotta say something.

In nearly 90 days, there hasn't been a problem of any kind in testing that gave them any reason(s) to pull the SP1 build for, and I consider that to be an extremely solid confirmation that this is as stable and reliable as it can get.

And of course if you need something to check those SHA1 hashes (and many other various types of hashes, like CRC32, MD5, etc etc) I recommend HashTab - it's the coolest thing ever! :D

Recently updated to version 4.0, works better than ever as well. Adds a File Hashes tab to the file properties dialogue, and if you copy a hash checksum to the Clipboard then do the hash check, it'll pull the checksum from the Clipboard instead of you manually needing to paste it... IT'S THE COOLEST THING EVER!!! :p
 
Well, I installed SP1, and then promptly uninstalled it...

A slew of services crashed immediately upon logging in with SP1 installed. Everything from the .Net Shim to ATi's display driver service crashed, barfing error window after error window onto my desktop.

Looks like I'll be waiting until SP1a...
 
Sounds like somethings screwed with your system. No issues with 4 installs on Win 7 Ultimate x64 or on a pair of 2K8 R2 installs here.
 
installed on 2 win7 boxes here at work and my win 2k8 R2 workstation here as well with no issues. About to rollout ot rest of IT dept for another week of testing or so b4 releasing it on wsus.
 
One Win2k8 R2 SP1 install and 6 Win 7 SP1 installs and zero issues so far. Even uninstalled the beta Win 7 SP1 on and a machine and installed the RTM and that when without a hitch..

Thanks for suggesting this software, I normally use powershell scripts to calc. hashs, but I installed this and it is pretty cool. :) Glad it can do SHA-512 as that is my usual hash..
 
I have installed Sp1 on multiple machines all good here also.
 
Installed SP1 on 1 freshly installed Win7 Ultimate/Office 2010 laptop.. no issues.

I used 7zip to extract the big file into a folder, there is a autorun and bit versions for x64/x32/ia64

Hope this helps.

Or...it's the service pack. Everything works fine before I install it, everything crashes after I install it, everything works fine again when I uninstall it.

Seems pretty conclusive...

Or somethings corrupted with your install and the service pack exacerbates the corruption. Grab a spare hard drive and do a full install of Win 7 SP1 and see if you have the same issue.
 
Installed it on my media center PC, which is almost a totally clean install. Same exact issue.

I've now also heard from a couple of people who're seeing the same problem, or worse (system rendered unbootable).

Seems like the SP isn't very compatible...
 
Where's your original source install media from, MSDN or technet?

Same with the original Win 7 install, it's from technet? It's interesting that ATI's drivers were crashing. Wonder what would happen if you uninstalled them, installed SP1 and then reinstalled them.
 
Yes, the Windows 7 installation media is from technet.

ATi's display driver service is just one of the many things that crash upon logon after the service pack is installed. Most of the errors are from stock Microsoft services that are part of Windows.

The only thing I can think of that would effect it is that I have IE9 RC1 installed, and I'm really not sure if that would effect the installation of the service pack or not.
 
Any current technet coupons? Been searching but all of them I have found are old and deactivated.
 
Anyone running WHS v1 with the Win 7 SP1 update? I saw posted somewhere there may be problems. I'd like to verify before risking losing my home network...
