is there anything i can do to adjust the sound volume to my headphones without having to use the windows volume control in the system tray? i just bought a pair of new Sennheiser HD 280's and i'm noticing there is no in-line volume control... uh so what do i do.... am i doomed to alt+tab out of everything for minute volume adjustments? is there a better solution?
 
get an xfi platinum or better, you can plug ur headphones in the front and they have a volume knob
 
a quick google search turned this up, looking for something like that seems like a resonable and inexpensive solution. If you're in the market for a new keyboard you could also try buying one with volume control buttons on it. I know most Logitech and Microsoft keyboards have them.
 
a headphone amp? you can get a cmoy for $30-$40 or you could build your own.. plus you would get the benefit of amplification.. even though the 280s are pretty efficient. Plus you can always use it for your portable mp3 player.. here is a pic of one I just got from MisterX.
