VMWorld 2013 roll call!

EMC party is Tuesday - VMW '11 that party was pretty fun. Should be good times - curious to see the layout of Moscone - never been.
 
Should there be a call sign or bat signal for HF people?

I honestly haven't planned one single evening activity for the whole event, will probably just wing it.
 
Anyone that wants to meet up should just PM me their email address, cell #, and name. Then I can start an email chain with everyone included and we can decide when and where to meet up there.
 
If anyone isn't going to the party Wednesday night (I never do) we should grab dinner or something.
 
Hoping to get a ticket to the EMC party, Solutions Exchange will be closed by the time I get in on Sunday. Hopefully they will still have tickets Monday. Seems some of these events fill fast!

The EMC customer event fills up REAL fast. Usually if your sales rep hasn't had a ticket held for you then you're out of luck. I don't even get to go anymore.
 
New job, so no go this year for me but definitely next year...
 
I'm putting it down for next year. Too much going on this year with rolling out a new design here. Just a question, but how do you get tickets to these events at VMworld? Do you have to reach out to your vendors and ask or what? I buy a ton of shit from a few and I've never even once got an email asking if I was going. Just curious.

Up in my room getting ready for TAM day. Got ditched by my VMware buddies, guys are so hard at work on things still :).

I want some food, but have no idea where to go. I guess I'm just going to get ready and go over to the moscone west and poke around a little early. Who knows what I might find.
 
Pull up Yelp and find somewhere. Hard not to find good food in that area of San Fran. Or just go to Mel's by Moscone. Believe vBreakfast is this morning. I'm on my plane out.

I'll be looking for lunch when I get there...
 
Heading out soon from Tampa, will be getting in late tonight. Hopefully I won't hit any delays and can make VMunderground.

In some spots, yes. It clears up when you move around the city. I'm staying at the Hilton and right now I'm over at Denny's with a coworker getting some breakfast.

I saw a sign for either free or reduced BART train tickets for convention goers after I bought one. Be sure to check into that before you ride.

I should have some free time Monday night I think - been tied up in insanity 14 hours a day so far every day. Monday work for anyone else?

HAHAHA. I have been begged for money and all that more than I can tolerate just between the hotel and the Moscone West. Ridiculous. Mel's did have some great breakfast by the way...

NetJunkie, definitely would like to meet you in person, would love to get in on a lunch / dinner crew one night. I didn't think I would be so busy when I first got here, but it has turned out I have stuff to do basically every minute until I fly out.
 
I think I just had some old black woman solicit me?

She walks up holding a ratty newspaper open like she wants me to look at it.

I stare at it trying to make sense of what's happening.

She says "can you help out with some food and a place to stay?"

Me "uh... no thanks"

Her "whachew lookin for"

Me fiddles with my phone and wandered aimlessly away without saying a word.

I wonder if she's good at foot massages? I shoulda invited her over for tea.

Extremely disgusted. The area by the convention center is okay but the immediate area around the Hilton friggen sucks. Over ran by hipsters and homeless. I had some guy as me for 37 cents then proceeded to yell a bunch of obscenities.

Did get to briefly check out the solutions exchange stuff for a little bit, the shredded beef tacos by the EMC booth has been the highlight of the trip :)

They've been slave driving us attendees pretty hard so I couldn't imagine how bad you staff guys are getting beat up. Major props though, no complaints on the labs.
 
We have a Varrow customer event tomorrow (Monday) evening. But could probably get together after..or do a lunch...or breakfast...or just something... :)
 
Also got me a nice seat in the Hang Space. Did General Session last year and ended up in the front row. Pretty sure that won't happen again so the big screens are the next best thing.
 
Watching it from my hotel room - got sessions all day, but they don't start till 11, so I'm finishing up some slides and relaxing for some sanity for a bit.

Yeah, watching it from the big screens at the hotel. No time to make it to Moscone and back. Pretty excited though. Just got an amping speech from Jeff Casale, ready to get back to work honestly.
