I ordered the parts for my new system today and gonna start putting together this weekend.. I am using a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Mobo..and installing vista ultimate as the OS.. my question is are the drivers for the sata pre installed on the mobo or will I still need to do the F6 option like in windows XP so the drivers for the sata get loaded when installing the OS..this is my first vista build so trying to get awnsers to some of the areas where I might have trouble in.. thanks,.,.

Chances are, since that's an Intel chipset, you won't need to load any drivers. However, just to be sure, have them handy on a USB Flash drive. You won't need a floppy even if you have to load drivers.

so Im assuming the drivers will come on a floppy disk from the mobo kit.. I can put these on a USB drive and load them that way instead of using a floppy drive?? thanks

It would be better to just download them from Gigabyte's website, to ensure you have the latest ones.

yes I guess thats a good point.. I will download them from the site.. I havent built a new rig for about 3 yrs now.. and its definately changed alot in that little amount of time..lol.. thanks again..

vista will load using a generic hdd sata controller once it is installed, you can insert chipset drivers

I just built a rig last Saturday. With the same motherboard and Vista ultimate.
It just loads generic drivers, then you can install intels drivers when the O.S. install
is complete.
