Why the hell does vista keep doing this, no processes are listed as sucking up CPU.. yet, 1 core basically will stay maxed out till i reboot. It is extremely annoying and causes massive lag with even moving the mouse around the screen...

on a dell D630

go under performance and click the resource monitor at the bottom

under there you can actually see everything that is using the CPU, then just sort until you see what it is..

i don't think that tab your looking at will show the services using high CPU.. but under the performance monitor should..
 
might be "super-fetch"in.... SVChost does a number of things and I noticed when I had a lot of slow downs I check the resource manager and it was pre-fetching everything.

I heard it goes away after a week or so, just heard though, I'm new to vista so don't take my word on it.
