Video Card for HTPC

It's okay but doesn't do audio over hdmi unless you connect it to a spdif connector on your motherboard, make sure you have one of those or you'll have to use a separate cable to connect it to your tv.

I believe AMD's HD4000 series and higher and the GT200 series and higher all have audio over hdmi natively on the card (without needed a spdif header on the mobo)
 
The GeForce 9500GT 512MB DDR2 should be more than adequate for 1080p as well?

He was using a 7800GTX... whatever it is, it surely doesn't have onboard audio, either.

I dunno :p
 
GTX 460 has has better video processing , HDMI 1.4 and does bitstream (so DTS-HD MA , Dolby TrueHD) through HDMI. I'm not sure the lower end 400 series cards do it but I know the GTX 460 does (the 480 doesn't do bitstream though).
