Hi Guys,

I've read that this Gfx card is able to do a Video-In. So I ran through the usual hardware setup, hooking up all the cables. When I launch Windows Movie Maker to capture the video, it showed nothing on the screen...just black screen. I believe I've installed everything necessary, including the ATI driver for video capture found on my installation CD..

Anyone here managed to capture video successfully with this X1900XT PowerColor card?

Please advise..
 
How are you connecting the video in source? I think you need the special VIVO cable to use video in.
 
You also need to make sure that you have the ATi WDM drivers installed. Then you have to use the ViVo cables, and software that can use the WDM drivers to interface with the card.

Fortunately, ATi now has the necessary 64bit WDM drivers for use with Windows XP Professional x64 Edition as well as the 32bit version of Windows XP.
 
Okay, yeah so i've got an 1800xt and am trying to get it work well too. Don't want to steal your thread but i thought we could share suggestions. I've got video working but....

Something tells me it's of poor quality. I have svideo plugged in and the screen is shaking very annoyingly. Unusable with my ps2 or psone since it causes a headache within 20 seconds thanks to the shaking. Another thing i've noticed in the capture selection options (using virtual dub to play btw, anyone have any other programs they use?) is that even though i have nothing plugged into composite i get this screen with the top part flashign greyy.

Anyone have any suggestions? Is it the cable or has someone experienced something similar. Anyone have any favorite playback software?

Just downloaded installed dscaler and the shaking has disappeared!
Having trouble activating audio in this though :(

Does the PowerColor X1900XT 256MB provide the necessary special VIVO cables? From my package, i have quite a number of cables. I have this RGB cable, Svideo In & Out, and etc..

Hey Bro...no problem with the thread sharing... Glad u got urs working...I was thinking, did i miss out anything? I tested VIVO using my external DVD player & never worked. Black screen.

Same, hooked up my X360 to it. The ring isn't flashing red so it knows it's trying to send a signal somewhere. The WDM software came with the 6.9 CCC. Still lost. I noticed on this RGB cable, the jack that connects to the card itself has an imprinted arrow pointing outward. Perhaps this is meant for output to an HDTV, and not input?

Well, got it to work with Virtual Dub, but using the S-video. Really blurry and kinda shakes. I'd rather move 5 feet and play on my measly 27" TV. Or maybe buy the adapter to go directly to the monitor.

The cable supplied with my saphire that works with this is a set of four. This 8-9 pinned cable (shaped like the s-video sorta but more pins) that has s-video input/output and composite in/out (four connections total from the one cable). That is what i got for input. The RGB one is just for output.
 
What software are you guys using to capture from your ATi cards? I can't find any that will detect mine.
 
Dscaler worked for me better then Virtual Dub, video quality wise.

Every program recognized the capture device though. Make sure you installed all wdm drivers and stuff.
 
Hi guys, finally got mine working in Windows Movie Maker... ATI WDM driver is a 'Must' install before everything else.. and then,

There was this 4 cables with 2 coupled together, yellow & black. use the one facing LEFT to u, its the primary connector! Damn.. I plugged the right side(which is secondary), hence the black screen...

Just wanna share this to all !
