Anyone know where i can get good Video Capture cards?

I heard the nvidia geforce mx 4000 was good is this true?

MX 4000 wasn't good for anything except basic 2D video display, and then only about 4 years after they had been around, so the price finally reached an acceptable level.

What do you want to do with your video capture card? Record old VHS tapes? Input movies from a camcorder? Watch TV? Tell us what you want to do.

I found my Leadtek FX5600 VIVO to be pretty amazing and it even does a good job of taking a PAL input (composite or s-video) and outputting it to my NTSC TV via the secondary output (DVI). The only downside is the supplied software doesn't keep audio/video sync in preview, so I had to close and re-load it after about an hour when it became noticeable. In recording mode it was solid though.

I tried loads of other software with it as well, which either didn't work at all or had worse problems than the supplied software, just in case you're thinking you could get round the problem that way.

Input movies from a camcorder? Maybe

The card needs to have a bnc and or rca connector.

Huh… OK, well here ya go! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100120 - $19.99

Or, maybe here ya go! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814144209 - $449.99

See, there’s kind of a range depending on what you’re planning to do with the card, and the more specific you are, the better we are to suggest adequate solutions.

If the cheapest one is what you’re looking for, awesome!

Good luck.

Look at the cable for it, it has RCA inputs for Video, Left and Right Audio, and then mini jack audio (headphone) and then finally it has S-Video as well.
