Any ideas why my new Ryzen build have a very low write speed?

It's a WD Black 512 M.2, with ASRock AB350M Pro4.

Write speed should be around 600-800 MB/s.

Thoughts?

Is heat an issue? You have it above the graphics card slot ya? Has it got any airflow over it at all?

First thoughts are its either 1) heat or 2) lack of AMD all in 1 driver.

The read speed should be around 1700+ but I guess 1500 is kinda close. I had that drive and ........ returned it. The write on that drive is only 550 to 650. It's low as is normally.

The Intel NVMe and WD NVMe's are not the sharpest tools in the shed. I mean, performance is just not that great.

If you can, return it and spend the extra $20 - $40 on a Samsung EVO NVMe. A 500gb Evo NVMe drive is around $225 or so on average, maybe $239 right now?

I'm on my 5th NVMe SSD.

Also, you guys don't need to get the Pro NVMe of the Samsung drive. SO SO not worth the extra cash.

Go into your bios and make sure you have it set to 4x on those particular PCI lanes. Also, some motherboards, maybe all will split bandwidth if they are shared. Make sure those PCI lanes are not shared and that you have it set to 4x.

Read your motherboard manual to get the details.

I don't think it's heat issues, will checkout the AMD all in one as suggested and also the bios settings.

Thanks for all the replies, will check them tomorrow.
