Vertex 4 boots slower than X25m

It's hardly believable but after a week of tweaking it seems to be true. The drive benches faster but it's slower during boot up. A very perceptible 3-4 seconds slower. The X25m 80GB was right at 10-11 seconds and the Vertex 4 256 is at 14-15. I measure from the time the logo/bar apears to the time I'm at a functional desktop with a stopwatch. Anyone else notice slow boot times?

* Imaged my OS directly to the Vertex 4 using Easus.
* Unplugged the X25M and plugged the V4 into the same Sata III cable and Intel port.
* Expanded the partition in Windows and left 50GB of spare area when the X25m had none.
* Started with IAstor driver then went to MSAHCI and now I'm back to IAstor. AS SSD goes from 1040 to 1084 with a 3x improvement in 4k writes with the IAstor driver. Boot times didn't change.
* Verified it's aligned.
* Checked the drive cache policy settings both ways.
* Trim is verified working.
* Stripped out every non-essential start up task and service. The X25 is faster with everything running than the Vertex is with the bare essentials.
* Flashed my MB Bios.

I'm obsessive, obviously, about my computer and this is really starting to tick me off. Next step is a fresh Windows install but I had hoped to avoid that. I'll probably move to WIndows 8 and will lose my point of comparison.

You are running different storage drivers...those take time to load, if your system is identical besides the ssd then you must not have had the intel RST drivers installed when you were running the x25M. Also, I have run a bunch of different drives in the past few months everything from samsungs marvell and sandforce. I've always found that with the exception of the 840pro the sandforce drives were faster on boot...doesn't really matter though as most were within 1-2 seconds.

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't care what boot times mean to my SSD. It matters to me.
I guess you're a little slow on the pick-up. :)

Deal is...an SSD's boot time doesn't mean one is better. As a matter of fact, it should make little difference.

Hopefully someone has ideas about your new drive....I gave up on OCZ @ 2-3 yrs ago.

Anyone on a computer forum probably wouldn't purchase an OCZ SSD,

I didn't state anywhere that one was overall better than the other. The Vertex has a slower boot time than the X25-m. That makes a difference to me. If I repair a corrupt PST file, install a large application, or image it the Vertex is faster. The OCZ drive is obviously far superior with heavy workloads.

I'm hoping someone has a magic bullet I haven't tried or at least find out if this is as fast as it's going to get.
