so i was curious if verizon has sold out of the iphone 4 yet. im gonna quote here

i cannot say if we have run out of them or not. i invite you to come by the store though.

ok wtf? lol. whats the point of going by if they are sold out? so you will possibly find out they are sold out and order one ....when they get more in???

lol, at the lack of huge crowds for the Verizon iPhone4 at Apple stores.

This makes me think there is hope for humanity, not every tech geek is a mindless sheep, thank God. Always wondered who the fuck would stand in line in sub zero weather in the northern cities, for a phone that's been out for 8 months, and is on a crippled network with no voice and date at the same time. Do you really need the Verzion iPhone4 that badly you can't wait a fucking a day or week more, if there was a big crowd ?

The iPhone4 is outdated anyways. Android FTW.

Indeed...waiting for the dual-core phones. Not much will take advantage of it in the next few months, but there will be in the not too distant future. ::Yoda voice:: There will be.

I never saw the need for the iPhone on Verizon. I'm confident Android will continue to dominate on "The Network". DROID!!

I personally wouldn't call verizons network crippled considering where I live it takes drive 40 miles in any direction to get 3G service with ATT and verizon has it all around us. And even when we get to 3G service through ATT it caps out at about 105KBps and the verizon phones in the same area get 250KBps+. Also I couldn't tell you the last time I needed to use Voice and Data at the same time. While I love my android device I'm completely tired of facebook or my messaging app needing to be force closed every time I open them. Also restarting my phone and it sending all the old showing pending but sent text messages again. These are the reasons I will be getting an Iphone sometime in the next week. Or I may wait and see what the next version looks like.

I believe he was referring to AT&T being crippled. As for your Android comments, I don't experience any of the issues you describe. Are you rooted?

Verizon can't do voice and data, so I believe he was talking about ATT.

No I am not rooted. Being that I break phone often enough that I need to be able go to verizon and get it replaced. I haven't broke this one yet, But I hate to have to worry about it. I had my OG droid rooted and loaded with a custom rom with no issues what so ever. I wish they wouldn't have replaced it with this droid 2.

If they gave it to me, would go straight to craigslist.

Verizon has some bad ass Androids coming out soon, HTC Thunderbolt, and the new Samsung Galaxy S2.

I think I want to try one...but I'm waiting for this summer. Then I can renew and get the discount. Iphone 5 with 4G?

This is why you are utterly the worst troll I have come upon on this sub-forum.

You make like 50 different posts saying how the iphone is outdated and people who buy the vzw iphone are stupid for buying old tech. yet you rave about the HTC Thunderbolt... which is nothing more than a rebadged EVO.

Good job.

Was that a warranty or insurance replacement..? Just wondering because my Droid is half-broke and am considering replacing it through insurance and I think I would actually prefer the Droid 2 right now.

Warranty, They couldn't get me an OG droid so they opened a brand new D2 and I walked out for free.

Kind of hate saying it but I was set on iPhone 4 for years until I did further investigation after the iPhone 4 for verizon was announced. Going to be waiting for Bionic.

i like androids its the battery life i find disappointing. im hoping with new droids coming out they will have better battery life.

Wow, I guess everyone is waiting for the new iphone but you wouldve thought this was the second coming with the Verizon iphone launch.

It actually looked kind of funny seeing 100 apple employees and 5 customers.

Lol they have plenty, the cnet liveblog at 7AM was so sad, no one was in line :p

out where i live verizon owns the market here, the verizon store across the street from my apartment had a line from the store all the way to the other side of the super walmart entrance. first time ever seen that entire parking lot packed at 5 am. the iphone going to verizon here was the second coming of god or something since everyone here is about 20 years behind in technology, the iphone is the greatest thing to ever exist in the eyes of people here. poor redbox is no longer the coolest thing to exist here :p.

If you were a hardcore Apple fan, I mean really hardcore, you would have bought an iPhone 4 (or some variant) by now, AT&T problems be damned. So the remaining people buying iPhones on Verizon now are either moderate fans, i.e. they were able to live without it thus far, and therefore aren't quite as inclined to stand in long lines, etc. OR they are abandoning their current AT&T iPhone for a Verizon iPhone. (i.e. they already had one, and therefore it's just not that exciting). Plus most of this latter group apparently bought the phones online.

This is somewhat true. I agree about the hardcore fan thing, but you have to realize that the pre-order launch was the BIGGEST sale event in verizon history. Most of the people who bought the phone bought it on feb. 3rd and these people were already verizon customers.

Why? Because a newer version may be coming out? I bought my Verizon iPhone 4 minutes past midnight on February 3rd. I don't care if a newer version comes out. What I wanted I now have, and that is a Verizon iPhone. Not everyone cares about the latest and greatest equipment. I have used several droid phones and read these forums everyday and the one thing I see about them is when someone posts a "problem" people either say "I never have seen those issues" or they ask "Are you rooted?". What I have in an iPhone is usability straight out of the box. I don't have to hack jailbreak or root to get away from "issues" no one else seems to have. It simply works and that is good enough for me.

Hmmmmf...I have the same thing...from a Droid X. I bought my X back late last year, around Aug-Sep, and never had a single issue that I have seen other users post about. I rooted my phone to get free wireless tether capabilities, not to "fix" any other issues or problems. I swapped ROMs so I wouldnt have to have the same tired, bland, boring looking device as every other DX user...

Bottomline, all phone makes/models have issues, even iPhones...that does not mean that every single device in that make/model has the same issues. Flaws are inherent in manufacturing, and thus, bad pieces get used, or poorly written code slips by...

I have the BB Curve and its about 5 years old roughly. I wanted to upgrade it months ago but i heard 4G was coming soon so i waited. I found out that the only 4G devices were for laptops connections after waiting sadly. Then I heard the iPhone was coming to Verizon only to find out it is only 3G! ( 3G!?!?)
I hear that the new HTC 4G lte phone will be here tomorrow and it looks cool but no specs on it from Verizon as of yet. (that i could find).
Then i hear that the iPhone 5 will be here by summer. What the hell to do?

I want to get rid of my BB curve and also my 3G USB device for my laptop and tether a 4G phone to it to save the $60 bucks.

So the iPhone 4 is out (who would buy that phone now? LOL)

The HTC 4G phone or wait for the iPhone 5?

Seems like most are going to wait.

If you are dead set on 4G then I would probably wait for the HTC Thunderbolt (the LTE phone you mentioned), or wait a bit longer for the bionic (can't remmeber if this is 4g as well but I'm pretty sure it is). Just know that 4G is still pretty limited, it's only in a hand full of areas so check to see whether or not you are located in a 4G area.

As far as the ip5 goes, nothing is ever known about apple until apple decides to release some info on it (when they will only do 1 week before it is released :p ). IMO, I don't think they willl release a 4G phone this summer and will will wait till 2012 when 4G is more of a standard. However, if you're an apple fan and can't wait (like me) then get that. This is the decision I made and I am 100% content with and could not be happier.

Just to set the record straight, the iPhone4 launch on Verizon was the single best launch in Verizon history:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/04/verizon-breaks-first-day-sales-record-with-iphone-4-pre-orders/

The phone was offered to existing customers on Feb 3rd. The record was shattered in 2 hours (between 3 and 5 AM) Furthermore, when reservations were opened on Feb 9th for all customers, people reserving the phones were not allowed to pick them up until 12PM on launch day. So the people waiting were those who both werent Verizon customers already, and didn't reserve in advance. So it was not representative of reality.

Looks like the iPhone is still just as strong as ever.

Take that truth and logic and get the HELL out of here!

Yeah, 4G is already in the area I need it to be. So all I need is the phone and I'm good to go.
Thanks.:)

Crazy stuff considering it is only 3G. I guess most people don't know or don' care.

Well we're talking about mainly apples users right?? :)

j/k apple guys! It is strange though... I myself know if I knew a better apple product with 4g was right around the corner id just as hell wait for it,

Well the Nexus S doesn't have HSPA+ yet it wasn't a big deal. 4G on a phone is meaningless for a lot of people simply because 4G coverage is terrible at the moment.

That is true 4g coverage isnt great but a lot of people get locked into a 2 yr contract with their phone. I'd rather have a phone capable of 4g when it starts to really ramp up around the nation.

I remember when people made the same claims about 3G, and how it wasn't a significant upgrade over Edge. While this was mostly true for a few months (I was an early 3G adopter), within about 6 months, in my travels I started to see the '3G' icon a lot more than the 'E' icon, and it started amounting to a noticeable and solid advantage in speed.

Im more disappointed with the data rate hike VZW is proposing for 4G LTE...5gb for $40 a month?? its ludicrous.

So let me get this straight.... there are some new faster phones coming out. These new phones may have 4G and Dual core processors. So we should all wait and see if an iPhone 5 comes out? we should regret buying something that works? we should just hold out until the next best thing comes out?

When does it stop? When is it "safe" to buy something? they way all you talk, we should never buy anything because there is always something "better" coming down the technology avenue. Why is it so bad to buy something right now? Why is it so bad and why do you guys think people who bought the iphone are stupid? Is it so incomprehensible that there are people out there that just want a verizon iphone? that people don't need the absolute latest and greatest? sure wait 5 - 6 months for an iphone5 but hey why not wait another 12 months and get the iphone5G? or another 18 months and get the iphone 5GS... when does it stop?

Heck I still run a quad core processor with only 4GB ram on my PC... guess maybe I am a loser? Oh and I am stupid too, because I purchased an iphone 4 from verizon 3 minutes after midnight.

I don't think I will need to buy another phone for at least two to three years, maybe then I will have a desire for the 10 core processors they are sure to have, but until then I will just have to live in hillbilly tech land way behind all the elitists who play the what if waiting game while crapping on people who aren't afraid to get off the never ending upgrade track.

Verizon has done things differently with the Iphone. The first phase was the online direct fullfilment. 2-3 million sold

The next phase was in the corporate stores

Tomorrow is the agent channel launch. The agent channel is over half of Verizon's total distribution . My little store has 250 on a waiting list. Half areCustomers who are loyal to us and only us the other half are ports coming from ATT and are confirmied with deposits. There are over 400 more little stores in our franchise and many are larger than mine. Then there are other Franchises. I would venture 1 million sold tommorrow alone.

The extimate will be 7 million will leave ATT to move to Verizon. Most people dont care if its the fastest or the latest, they just want the Iphone. Who am i to argue with them. I must say it is an elagant piece of art

I am just saying ;)
