Vega's SLI Scaling Thread

On average, dropping down to 4.0Ghz lowered FPS by 10-12%. Increasing the CPU to 5.2Ghz had a minimal impact, averaging a 1-2% gain. One game, F1 2010, didn't care what the CPU was set at and pulled the same numbers.

Kind of what I would expect, even at 4 GHz you're not really all that CPU limited. I wonder if the hexacore is helping much, though I would tend to doubt it.

Sorry, it is a single player game. I was just curious to see how it performs on a Quad-SLI system.

As soon as a sale goes through I would be willing to buy you the game to run on your Quad-SLI system just to see how it performs.

Sorry I do not have that game. Is that the MMORPG?

Vega are you millionaire? :p

Naw, this stuff really isn't that expensive when you consider what a lot of people spend on cars. Just the engine for the car I am building is more expensive then every component remotely associated with my computer setup.

lol, way to be blithely modest with your gajillions, vega :p

I doubt his setup cost him 10K. Hell just the difference between buying a 30K SUV and a 20K car would have paid for this thing. Or buying a 200K house instead of a 300K house. Computers really aren't that expensive when you sit down and do the math.

Well the monitors are $1200 each.

Processer is $1000.

video cards are $600 each, and he has 4 of em.

Right there it is $7000. thats not including memory, Harddrives, his Monitor mounts, PSU, custom Chair.

$10000 is a very modest Esimate.

This. People need to get out more.

Some people are ''crazy'' enough to own 200K$ HT with 100K$ of electronics. My pre/pro alone is worth 7K$. The projector over 30K$. All the La-Z-Boy in my room are worth 10K$ just to sit down (with bass-shakers integrated in them). And for my reviewing part time hobby, I was able to visit some HT worth over 500K$. That's ALOT of money. Not a home. 500K$ only for the Home Theater! :D

Everything is relative. In the whole picture, computers aren't that expensive.

ugh...I'm not going to post my estimate of my rig...my wife may be reading

How have your Palit's been doing Yang? 270.51 have good performance but the broken bezel correction in portrait is annoying. Temporarily using 267.31 until nVidia get their heads out of their asses.

Awesome and using the. 267.31s also...dying for new drivers

Should be putting the cpu underwater next week....still contemplating a 2nd loop for the gpus

I vote for a second loop. You can make your computer look a mess with tubes going everywhere like mine. :D
