You lost me. Yes, the PC8000 most likely will perform no better than the first pair in a 4 GB configuration but neither would have the stuff you were going to get. 4GB can be iffy, but they are all D9 microns, the orginal stuff just speed binned lower. Shouldnt be an issue with the sticks if it doesnt work. You are not any worse off and in many ways made out like mad.

haha i figured i would lose some ppl with that. my question was i want to put the PC6400 2 x1gb kit together with the PC8000 2 x1gb kit for gaming. is that going to limit my PC8000? from my understanding it will downgrade the PC8000 to match the lowest stick of ram, which is the 6400.

yep.. unfortunately. for gaming 2gb is fine so i would just use the pc 8000 sticks.

If you aren't overclocking, there will be no limit. Besides, even if you do overclock, they will still have the same performance.

im not sure i understand. how do you over clock certain ram? ive never done that before. ive just went into the bios and set the ram up like that. there isnt an option to overclock slot 1 or slot 2

it all depends on ure mobo etc. but basically on myn i type in the ram speed. it changes ALL sticks so i dont know if it will work them all @ same volts.
