You guys have to watch this video and decide if this is real or fake. This guy claims to have made a "friend adding" bot / crawler for Google+ and specifically asks Google to address the the issue (and not to ban him :D).
 
I don't get what the big deal is about? just cause you add someone to your circles doesn't mean you show up in theirs.
 
But if a person is in your circle and you post something about them in your Stream, its emailed to them. Currently the bot isn't that menacing because it has glaring limitations, but that process can be stream lined to run a lot faster and then spammers will have a powerful tool...not that it will get through my Google spam filter.
 
The music made me puke, so I had to stop watching.
 
His 'bot' looks like a macro program clicking on specific positions on the screen over and over in a loop with a couple scroll downs thrown in for good measure.

I don't know if I would say that qualifies him as a 'programmer' :)
 
very easy to get your google account banned for doing that (all they need to do is add the check at there end for users doing that)
 
Autohotkey for the win. You could also create a bot to search for thumbnails with a certian size within a window frame move to the right or left so many pixeles and choose the options..

what country are you in?

Youtube is currently Audio-swapping this vid for people in more restrictive countries. I had NO idea that other countries couldn't view vids with music in it.

Just felt like stopping in and saying hi.
The video is kinda out of context without its initial post on G+.
I have no claim to being a programmer, this was just for laughs.

I was setup to post a video the other night called "Circle Jerk" - 5000 friends in 5 minutes after making the bot run perfectly I added 9 virtual machines and was destroying shit.

But Google has fixed the problem now. And limited friend adds to one every 4 seconds.

Weather or not my video helped achieve this result or not I don't know. But G+ is now a better place for everyone.

So I was wondering why I was getting so many god damn adds/day from people who not only had no pages in common with me, but didn't speak my language.

I did a few Google searches and found nothing regarding any new bots for G+.....So I decided to sit down and try and figure out what was going on myself, learnt a quick programming language and setup a bot to circle people.

I have NO idea how to program. Yes I'm relatively cluey, and I know my way around a PC but a programmer I am not.

The more I thought about it the more it made sense:
a) Make an account.
b) Add 5000 people to a circle.
c) Wait 24 hours for them to add you to a circle.
d) Remove circle (keeping the ones that had circled you).
e) Run bot again to fish for another 5000 people.

This is a MASSIVE problem. For me to add the # of people I am in the below video without even hitting a captcha screen, well....lets just say its AN ISSUE

Once you open up business accounts next week people will be doing this for $$ with nothing to throttle the spam ^^

I KNOW on its first jump that this will reach a few Google employees and I sincerely hope they look at fixing this because I love this service and leaving such a gapingly HUGEEE hole open is IMO a bad idea.

If you're reading this and you're one of my botted friends, I sincerely appologise for the spam.

I picked on +Robert Scoble in this video because he has a fair bit of clout on here (and had almost the perfect number of friends in his circle for me to hit 5k).

Oh. And just because I cant edit: You say the bot achieves nothing?

Running it for 2 days and my account is on its way to 2000 followers, its in the top 2000 most followed accounts on G+ just because I fished 10,000 accounts and 15-20% of them re-circled me.

You should have been on jersey shore or something, waaay easier way to get 5000 friends with much less effort :p
