I want to build mini-itx computer for playing skyrim and BF3.. my case will be silverstone sg08. The motherboard that I think is reliable is intel Q67 chipset.. this one

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121513

Now it comes to the cpu..I know this board has design of TDP of 65w..someone did look into it and used 95w cpu. It seems like if the case is well ventilated, it should work for the most part but the cpu might throttle down if overheating. I cant make up my mind on CPU thou..I can get i5-2500k (95w) for $199 or i5-2500 (95w) for $209 or just go with i5-2405s (65w) for $219...

Seems like 2500k is the best bang for the buck..I know I cant OC on Q67 board..but it's 10 dollars cheaper.. any suggestion on this before I pull my trigger? I like 2405s but is it enough for gaming? I dont know if they gonna come out a decent mini-itx board for 1155...but asrock has terrible reviews.. I dont want to bet on it.. Thanks

Personally, I would go with the 2405S and not take any chances. The difference is only $20. At the very least, you'll save some electricity by going with the lower-power CPU.

why specifically that intel mobo, and not other (reliable itx) mobos that are rated 95W TDP?

i cant seem to find one that's reliable at 95w not at newegg at least..do u know any?

oh 1 more thing..im a bit confused..compare to Q67 or H67..how's H61 line up? are they defective with the sata? I dont remember..thanks

you wont be able to overclock the 2500k with that board, you would need a Z68 based one and alot of those dont overclock well.

You can save even more money by going with the 2500(non-k) since you won't be able to overclock it with the boards you want, anyway.

Q67 is a workstation chipset and has a few extra features, but for most people, it has no advantages over H67. None of the chipsets have SATA issues any more; that was dealt with months ago.

H67/Z68 chipset. Get the Zotac or the Asrock... they are the best Mobo's out for ITX at the moment. They even allow a bit of OC'ing.

thanks guys..i have made up my mind..i think i will hold off and wait for ivy plus amd 7000 series...i looked into the power consumption and performance..supposedly it's a huge leap.. maybe next May or June..
