Size comparrison to x1900

Ran some basic benchmarks over the last couple of days on my x1900 in xp and vista 64 just to compare them to the new card:

The cod one obviously shows that there has to be some kinda aa bug going on, all tests ran at 1920x1200 4xfsaa 16xhqaf: fx60 @ 2.8ghz

Company of Heroes Performance Test (demo version): Average 43,6 Min 17.4, Max 121.5 (x1900xt)

I dunno how reliable these are as i think the card is just barely geting enough juice to run, notice how company of heroes seems to love vista though. In the benches i done in xp the performance for the x1900xt didn't even break 100fps in coh.

oos can't forget about cockmark 06 (vista 64)

3DMark Score 5817 3DMarks (x1900xt)
SM 2.0 Score 2247 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 2557 Marks

3DMark Score 9293 3DMarks (2900xt)
SM 2.0 Score 4219 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 4627 Marks

cool , hope you enjoy it . Good luck getting your hands on the newest drivers , they are said to be up to 20% faster

You wouldnit happen to run dual monitors, havent read anywhere that as noted how well the 2900 does in that area

Humor me for one minute. When was the last time you updated your DX9.0c? Was it within the last 6 months? If so, could you install an older version, reboot then retry some of the benchmarks to see if the results are better or worst? I would greatly appreciate that.

My two X1900XTs:

3DMark Score 9438 3DMarks (1900xt x2, XP 64-bit)
SM 2.0 Score 4283 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 4608 Marks
CPU Score 2036 Marks

Based on the CPU scores we're in the same ballpark, and the rest of the scores are rather unimpressive to me. Given that [H] noted that 3DMark seems to be where the card runs best, this is most certainly not a worthwhile upgrade for me. Normally the 2 cards > 1 card benefit would be in heat and power, but in this case I'm not even sure I'd see that.

I will do when i get my new psu on thursday, at the minute its really flaky. :(

That is pretty impressive, even with only the one HDD, that that PSU managed to power up and run games.

Im just hoping that the 400 watt can handle it properly with the other hdd and dvd rom plugged in. Far as im aware thats the highest shuttle psu's go and the 400 is supposodly designed for sli and crossfire.
