I got a cheap DAC because I was tired of hearing noise from my computer on my headphones. The DAC works great until I put my computer to sleep and wake it back up. The audio will not play through the dac until I unplug and replug the USB DAC back in once or twice, and that also requires me to reload anything that's playing audio for it to start.

Is there any way to fix this sleeping issue?

Windows 7 64bit
DAC: Syba USB 2.0 SD-DAC63057

This issue is not uncommon with USB sound devices not liking sleepmode very much sometimes it can be resolved and other times not much can be done.

so couple things to try
first off listing more info (motherboard for example especially might help)

is the dac connected to a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port is it connected directly to the computer or to a hub (powered / unpowered?)

my first thought would be to make sure it is hooked up to a USB 2.0 port directly and see if that helps?

I would also take a look for bios updates / drivers updates for the chipset of the motherboard / usb controller(s). I would also double check the bios for any usb related sleep mode settings (and check for the owners manual some mother boards have dip switches for controlling if the ports stay powered on sleep mode and whatnot.

and also:

(they do have a contact form for tech support... they may have ideas)

then since the product page says it is using the VIA envy VT1620A could check for newer drivers from VIA?

Okay, that gives me some hope

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All

It was connected directly and still had issues, I moved it to my monitors USB ports because of the cord length. I'll try switching it back before troubleshooting more, but the monitor's port is powered at least.

Thanks for all the info, I have a lot of testing to do now.
