I'm thinking about getting a USB 3 card for my computer. The motherboard is an Asus P5E WS Pro. If I get the card with an external hdd that is USB 3, will I get that full speed considering my motherboard is 4 years old with USB 2? I havent kept up with hardware and such in a while.
 
If the USB 3.0 card is being connected via PCI-E, yes you'll get the full speed of an external hard drive with USB 3.0.
