gentlemen, do i get this right:

In order to take advantage of a USB 3.0 component (like external HDD), the motherboard also has to be USB 3.0 ready?

But of course. ;) A regular 2.0 MB will just drop down the speed.
 
damn, thats what i thought.

are there any hi-end gaming MBs that have USB 3.0 ?
 
Motherboard that is USB 3.0 ready or you could get a PCI-e USB 3.0 card.

Otherwise your USB 3.0 ready enclosure will work at USB 2.0 speeds
