Would be good for turbocharging a laptop :p Hope they come in RadeonX800 flavors :D

lol that would be kinda cool if they made them in next gen card 'flavors.' lol, could use that new alienware stuff where two video cards render one screen to boost performance lol. i could see about 5 x800's plugged up to some rich guy's usb ports lol.

X800? Never going to happen. For that to work you'd need a very fast external port. The best you can do right now is Firewire 800 which will, under ideal conditions, move data at 100MB/s. The USB2 standard can only move data at 60MB/s (and, unlike firewire, it rarely comes close to its maximum). This is still short of what 32/33 PCI can do. This thing is probably a Rage Pro or some equally ancient card. Even at that level of power your CPU usage is going to be through the roof. Anyone used a USB sound card? This thing is going to eat +50%.

not sure about @trapine
but i was just joking about the x800 thing lol. no need to take it too serious litkaj. :)

100MB/s under ideal conditions for FireWire 800? I get more than that from FireWire 400.

not quite sure how you're getting speeds of over 100 MegaBytes per sec when the bus can only transfer at 400 Megabits per sec...

anywhere where i could buy one? I want one of these for my 3rd monitor on my SFF Shuttle because i dont want to use up the only PCI slot.
