Corsair 620HX
RAID 0 320GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA II

Do I, or can I, salvage this system to sustain high settings on World of WarCraft: Mists of Pandaria, in a 25 player raid, and Diablo 3. With minimal upgrades? I am trying to spend the least I can, contemplating maybe a motherboard upgrade if possible, but I doubt it would be.

Thoughts? Help?
 
With the exception of the HDDs and PSU, you pretty much have to upgrade the rest of that setup.
 
I have exactly the same computer except I have 4GB RAM and different video card.

You can get more ram and OC the CPU (if you have proper heatsink). Then you can prolong the life of your computer and it should play mentionied games fine.

BUT! doing this you invest money into old technology. I would not recommend that. Just upgrade.

Keeping the HDD's and PSU. Saw the Microcenter deal and my jaw dropped...

$354 - Intel Core i5 3570K + ASUS P8Z77-V (Microcenter Deal)
or
$300 - Intel Core i5 3570K + ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Z77

$49 - G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600


Unsure about the graphics card yet. Trying to maintain under $600, but may go higher if needed.

Any suggestion on the mobo pick for this Microcenter deal? Struggling to make a decision. LOL Contemplated the sabertooth as well.
 
Go with the Asus that you listed. As for the GPU, what's the max resolution of your monitor?

The current monitor will do a max of 1376x720 so it doesnt need to be a beefy card, I was thinking about the XFX 7950 for $329 newegg was offering today.
 
U can go less than a 7950 and save $ if u only gonna be at that resoultion
 
I certainly could, but I'd rather not waste the money on something subpar that runs for that monitor and upgrade my monitor and have to upgrade the card again.

Havent a clue, but it will be sometime in the future, a year or so and it would be no less then 24".

Would that memory be an upgrade for what I have posted, or a worthless upgrade decision?
 
2133 speed DDR3 on this platform (Well, Sandy Bridge anyway) is about the level of diminishing returns. 1866 is probably as high as you should go, but 1600 is no slouch, either. You should be fine with an 8GB (2x4GB) kit of G.SKILLs or whatever you fancy for around 50 bucks.

I also like how you mentioned that you don't need a beefy card, then mentioned the 7950. :p If you can get it for around $300, that would be a hell of a card, especially after some overclocking. Sure, the GTX670 gives it a run for its money at MSRP, but last I checked, averaging over 50FPS in BF3 multiplayer maxed at 1920x1200 isn't playing around.

Wasted money. The memory will run at 1333 anyway and trying to overclock it is more trouble than it's worth. You wont even notice a difference.
