upgrading from 4350 to 6870 problem

Hi,
I'm posting today because I'm having a problem upgrading from my Radeon HD 4350 to my Radeon HD 6870. When I i installed the card into my computer and started it up i got no signal. Ive uninstalled the old graphics drivers and reset the bios. Am i missing anything?

I'm pretty sure its a compatibility issue with my mobo since its a little older. Here is my info its the issue.

does the board have PCI-e 1.0 or 2.0 slots? i know a lot of the newer cards are having issues with the older pci-e 1.0 slots, this might be the problem your having.
 
hmm not sure, all it says its a PCI-e x16 expansion. Is there any other way to figure out what type of expansion it is?

You have a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot since you have a P45/P43/G45/G43 based motherboard according to the link you gave us.
 
Im using an antec 750w power supply, which should be more than enough power.
 
That board SHOULD have a PCI-E 2.0 slot according to the chipset it is using.

Did you plug in the power to the video card?

Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard?

What monitor are you using?

Both power connections are on, updated BIOS and a 19inch monitor.
 
Don't worry about the PSU compatibility.

So the PC boots fine with the HD 4350, correct?
Can you try the HD 6870 in another PC?
 
Yes the 4350 boots perfectly fine. I can try the HD 6870 on my brothers PC tomorrow. I would hate to think that its dead, lol.
