Im going to be buying a new monitor very soon. Looking at ASUS VE276Q Black 27" 1920X1080 or BenQ XL2420T Black-Red 24" (If I go with the BenQ there is a chance I will get two).

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
I have at the end of this week and anther 1k at the end of the month.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.

Get the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H, BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00, and HDS723020BLA642.
 
I don't think I'd spend money on an older chipset such as the Z68, when for about the same price you can get the Z77 chiptset which has more features. However, since you don't seem to need anything in a motherboard, I guess it will be fine.

With a $1500 budget, I'd get a bigger SSD.

What GPU are you using? Its not listed that you have one or need one.
 
What would be a better MoBo then? I mean I dont need anything crazy I don't think. USB 3.0 thats it. I just want to avoid upgrading the Mobo for at least a year or year and a half.

For GPU Im trying to decide between a 670 or 680 not sure yet. Again would like to avoid upgrading it for about a year or so.
 
Well that motherboard will be fine for your needs.

Either the 670 or 680 will most defiantly be good to go a year and a half from now. Go with the 670 IMHO.
 
With an i5-2500k, I don't see a point in Z77 anyway. Just because something is newer doesn't mean it is better.

Considering that the price difference between a solid Z68 and Z77 mobo are rather small, I'd say yes Z77 is worth it since it gives you native USB 3.0 ports rather than the not-so-reliable 3rd party USB 3.0 ports found on many Z68 mobos. Not to mention that the Z77 mobos are more than likely to have better UEFI interfaces than their older Z68 counterparts. This is especially true when talking about Gigabyte mobos: Gigabyte's Z77 mobos actually use a UEFI interface (albeit not as great as MSI or Asus' UEFI) whereas the Gigabyte's Z68 mobos used a traditional BIOs layout with some UEFI enhancements (namely the ability to support drives more than 2TB in size). So in the case of Gigabyte at the least, you're gonna see vastly different interfaces.

Now as for your list of mobos, the last three mobos on your list are complete and utter overkill for your needs. I recommend this mobo instead over the first Gigabyte since it comes with a better UEFI interface:
