Upgrading components and i need advice

So i was planning on getting the following

i5 3570k or is Hashwell going to be 1155 ? might try a cheap 2120 i3 for a couple of months
16 GB 30 NM Samsung (4x4)

Now this part im not really sure, i want to get

Intel 520 180GB or something else ?

Motherboard, i was thinking of getting an Asus Maximus V Gene... the thing is i can get a ASUS P8Z77-V LX for quite a bit less... they r both Z77 and TBH i don't plan on ocing just yet ... i ll ride it out stock till my tax return so i can get an H100 and a video card (rocking a 6670 now)
Don't plan on running tons of disk ... just the ssd and a 2tb

PS: i can't wait sadly, im running on a borrowed pc so i need to buy one
 
The Samsung is a go. What is the SSD going to be used for? And I am not sure if Haswell is going to be 1155 or 2011, I feel like it would be 2011.

Actually, Haswell will be completely incompatible with either 1155 or 2011. The initial Haswells will use a completely new socket, LGA 1150 (with only 1150 pins).

Also, don't go for the LX as it's being phased out and wasn't that good of a mobo in the first place.

SATA3 for ssd... after that everything is luxory (i do want it to oc well for future use)

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Why wait to upgrade PSU? That Coolermaster probably isn't good at all. So why not just replace it now?
 
Money issue
CPU/MOBO/RAM are from a friend, and my current HDD is about to die, computer swap freezes constantly etc

Since i don't plan on ocing till i get a new video card, i dont know if i really need a new psu
a 6670 non oc shouldnt draw too much power

The problem is that the PSU is of so low quality it may actually damage your PC parts over time. Wouldn't surprise me if that PSU had a hand in your current HDD dying. With that said, how long before your tax return comes in?

Also what case are you using now?

Your budget easily allows for a decent PSU to be bought (assuming that you're either gonna replace the case with your tax return or that you have a good case to begin with):

Everythings looking pretty good if you select the Maximus V gene and 8GB of memory as I think 16GB is way overkill.

The PSU is a tough call... i cant buy it in the states cause of its dimensions its a real hassle to bring back to argentina... i can make a sacrifice if u guys belive its a must

If you can afford to, go for it. If not, don't. Pretty much that.

I wouldn't have made the recommendation for a new PSU if I didn't think it was a must.
 
Okay, how about this 2 motherboards ?

P8Z77-M PRO

GA-Z77X-UD3H

I can get them for 100 bucks cheaper than the V Gene, and it allows me to buy a PSU
Are they worth it ? For OCing ?

To clarify, the motherboard and PSU are going to be bought in Argentina... so the pricing and availability is different

EDIT: I ll try to answer myself, reading [H] review now :)... and thank you for the patience, having a real tight budget this build
 
Well, i settled for the Maximus V Gene ... a friend of mine has an Antec TP Quattro 850w he can loan me indefinitely

Quick question, is the SSD M4 worth it ? Not a capacity issue, but i wouldn't mind spending top 250us for a really good SSD
 
Asus Maximus V Gene? Are you still trying to save money?

The Crucial M4 is a good SSD. Look for either the 128GB or 256GB model.
 
Like i said, im getting a free psu mean while, so that frees up my budget
I was planning on getting the Intel 520 180GB at first, im just wondering if its worth it or not over the m4... im looking a reliability since i wont have warranty cause i don't live in the US
 
The intel 520s are very good. Intel doesn't inflate specs - they produce specs that match typical, real time performance. In my experience, Intel SSDs are every bit as capable for daily use as other drives.
