Hey guys i just want to upgrade my computer i feel like im far behind others in specs here are my specs.
c2d E7500
GTS 250
2gb ram
ASUS P5G41
What can i upgrade cpu gfx ram ect without spending alot of meony i know i wanted to go for the new i5 and i7s i would have to build a whole new computer altogether, Which i don't relay want to do.

What's your budget? Honestly it wouldn't be worth it to upgrade your computer at the moment, because you would be throwing money into a dead platform....therefore making it harder for you in the future. All you could really do is add more ram and get a better graphics card. What resolution are you running, because if it's 1920x1200 you're talking about dropping 250-300$ on ram and a graphics card.
If I were you I would get a graphics card I would plan on using in another build...and use that as a step towards building another system. Otherwise save your money and wait to build a whole new system.

You should wait to build whole new system. When Battlefield 3 comes out, we will know how it performs on what system :)

You would have to find a core 2 quad which are expensive and becoming more rare.

You would need a dx11 graphics card which the 250 isn't.

4gb at the bare minimum..

Here's a sample build at $400
AMD Athlon x4 3.0GHz (game recommends quad core)
4gb ram (also recommended)
asus m5a97 motherboard (usb3 and sata6 onboard)
and a Sapphire 6870.

For $400 bucks on a single monitor that rig will get you playing bf3 with flying colors. Trying to extend the life of your socket 775 is going to get you nowhere.

What PSU do you have? A GPU upgrade might help a little.

With that said, I do agree with others that investing additional cash into a dead platform is not a good expenditure of money. The price of DDR2 RAM is pretty high, your CPU will limit the performance of many video cards, a CPU upgrade is pretty much out of the question considering the prices of used Intel quad-cores, and you haven't told us what PSU you have. Plus, we also need to know what case you have as that might not be capable of handling a GPU or CPU upgrade

All in all, you're pretty much better off with a new PC.
