Hey all, so i have a good deal on selling my laptop for 400, and since i don't want to be without a computer for a month, I'd like to have one thats customizable, as in, motherboard with sli/crossfire capability, ability to switch from dual core to quad core, and also extra RAM slots.
Not sure if this is possible, but if so that would be awesome, i make a decent amount of money and would be able to buy new parts soon, but hit a car the other day and need the cash i have right now to go towards that. Anyways, thanks and here it is
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, web browsing, pretty much anything anyone would do with a computer + gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
400, yes they are included, can go like 5-10 over but no more then that
3) Where do you live?
Northern Virginia, near microcenter/bestbuy
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Need motherboard/ram/cpu/psu/harddrive/case ((don't need a big harddrive right now, have an external))
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Reusing 9600gt, monitor (benq), keyboard/mouse
6) Will you be overclocking?
Later on in its life yes, not a big deal right now
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
24" 1900x1200
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Pretty soon, around a week or so
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire?Crossfire or SLI support? etc.
Cross/sli support possibly, if it doesnt blow up my budget
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? 32bit or 64bit?
w7 ultimate
But yes, upgradable would be awesome, my last comp had a crappy motherboard, and for that had trouble updating without having to blow 500 dollars for mobo+ram + part i wanted to upgrade.. anyways thanks a lot!
