So a year back then I build a computer, my first one. Now I kinda want an upgrade but it seems I didn't really think about that back then. I'd also like a monitor update, my 1680*1050 is getting old and more resolution would be appreciate (mainly for gaming, watching 720p content like game of thrones :D)

Here's the spec: Amd Phenom II 955 @3.7 Ghz, Gygabite 790Xta UD3, EVGA Gtx 580 1.5 gb OC @ 900core/2100 mem, 4 gb ripjaw @ 1600 Ud3, 620 Watt PSU from antec bronze a 500 gb 7200rpg HDD all that in a haf 922

The problem with the monitor upgrade (I want something like 2560*1440 monitor) is that I will hit the 1.5 vram wall on many many games if I play at that resolution, bf3 already come real close to 1.5gb and that's with twice less pixels. That make buying a second 580 out of the question. So I was wondering what should be the next natural upgrade? My cpu is limiting me in some game like sc2 and bf3 at some time but it's still playable. So the more I Think about it, the more I think I need a whole new rig cpu/gpu witch cost an arm and a leg considering I won't get much from my old cpu. Any help? All recommendation will be looked at, Btw I really never sold old parts so What should I do if I decide to upgrade?

Go for a Core i5 3570K CPU + Z77 mobo + 8GB of more RAM upgrade first. Then upgrade the GPU to the GTX 680 if you can afford it. You should be set after that

Can't really help you there as thats borderline price checking.
