Hey guys. I'm wanting to take an old PC I have and upgrade a few things and hopefully get it in decent shape so my little brother can play world of warcraft. The computer has been in the closest for a while now so Im not sure of the exact specs but if I remember correctly it has

2.0 duel core
2gb ram
geforece 4200? I could be wrong about that

I'm hoping to only have to upgrade the video card. I think its a pcie and Im wanting to spend no more than 50 bucks. Any suggestions on a card that would run wow decently on low settings?

What PSU do you have?
Find out exactly what video card you have now.

I'd say the pc is at least 5 years old. And I'm fairly certain its a PCIE slot.

I'll get the comp out of the closet and post the exact specs tomm.

I'd say if you're going to buy new a 4650 would definitely be good enough to play on low/medium settings depending on what res you're running. Given your specs I'm going to guess 1280x1024 at the highest ;).

But I would just get a decent/better used card out of the forums or something. Here's another 4650 for $37. Or even better this 9600 GSO for $45 (used) and $50 (new) which seems perfect, I think.

if it's a dual core and 2 gigs of ram, I'd say that is good for WoW. I gave one of my friends my old 6800gt for his sempron setup to run WoW. It works. So I think you would be in good shape with the cards that were previously recommended.
