Argh!

e5300 (ran a 65nm e6300)
p5wdh deluxe
2gb gskill
7950gx2

I've got some free time so I want a new box!

plan on using my w/c gear on the new rig

Clearly, I cant carry over anything to the new rig.

Whats going to give me the best upgrade path in the future? i5, i7?

will a c2q oc well in my asus board?

Cant swing a whole upgrade both in $$ and time,

Id like to get this buggy gx2 out, keeping that in mind whats a good idea?

I'd definitely go core i5 750. You could sell your rig locally.

1) What exactly do you want to accomplish with this upgrade? If gaming, what size is your monitor?
2) What PSU do you have?
3) How much money do you have for this upgrade?
4) When are you planning on doing this upgrade?
5) What features do you want on a motherboard?

Im driving two 23" 1920x1080 lcds
I have an enermax libery 620
just ordered the ocz 1000w refurb (may use for new build or replace aging whs psu)

gaming, x264 encoding, mild photoshop, blender, auto cad, microstation.

Id like to have good gaming perfomance on a single display, without switching shit around (card above blows for this)

Currently I power both lcds from the above rig, secondary display hooks to an am2 system, and I use synergy to switch between the two systems when multitasking

I wanna get rid of the second box

2-3 months max,

As to the money, 600 750

dont care about the mobo def need good oc potential.

Cooling will be two loops.

2-3 months?

Too soon then. Prices and availability will change for CPUs, mobo, GPU, and RAM will change quite a bit in that time.

With that said, you have enough mone for a Core i5 + mobo + RAM + new GPU with a $750 budget
