Hey everyone, so my girlfriend is moving in with me and I thought that I'd go ahead and just buy/build a new computer for her so she wouldn't occupy mine while I'm home. Long story short, I figure that I'll upgrade my build (located in sig) and use the replaced parts for a lesser, somewhat okay build for her.
Her computer will be mostly for low graphical games, storage, and simple basic stuff. (i.e. I don't need to spend huge amounts on anything)
Mine however I want to use for high gfx gaming, particularly Dragon Age 2 and other high graphics games.
Listed below are the required Q's
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
$800ish but can go up to $1000
3) Where do you live?
Next door to Microcenter (Ohio)
4) What exact parts do you need?
High Performance: CPU, Mobo, GPU
Low Performance: PSU, RAM, Case, HDD
6) Will you be overclocking?
Yes, but only high performance build.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
Start whenever, should be finished within a month or 3
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Yes, two 64 bit. Both Legit.
So here's my proposed upgrades:
Radeon HD 6950 $254
Sandy Bridges i5 2500K $180
GA-P67A-UD3-B3 LGA 1155 P67 ATX Motherboard $110
Also, I'm a computer newbie. Know a lot about how to use computers, how they work etc. but when it comes to chip hardware I really just have to read the datasheets and about pages. That being said, I do plan on overclocking my CPU and unlocking my GPU. So all thoughts and information are highly appreciated!
Here's a more thorough link to my old build.
