Is it worth upgrading to one of these CPUs?

E6300

E5200

My budget is only $100 on CPU..
If there are any better out there? any suggestions? 100 dollars only lol...

And im aiming for a decent GAMING computer..
i have no intentions to overclock anything.

Nope. none of those CPUs are worth it. Stick to the Q8200. The Q9550 is the only CPU worth upgrading to in your case.

Sell your Q8200 and buy the Q9550. I personally think the performance increase even when overclocked is not worth the effort. Save your money for a i5 or i7 system down the road.

I'm running my Q8200 @ 3.15Ghz 24/7 and can't be happier. Wait for the i5/i7 and save some money.

you have the 2.33ghz 2mbx2 quad core and you're looking to upgrade to 2.5/2.8ghz 2mb dual core? That is not an upgrade.

okay MAYBE the 2.8ghz would see some fps increase over the quad but in almost every other aspect it would be worse.

Even for gaming I wouldn't recommend a "simple" dual core anymore. Go overclock that thing! :D
