Upgrade for my HD4650

Hi, I tend to upgrade my graphics cards once every 3 years and now the time has come to upgrade sine my current HD4650 is starting to show its age at 1920*1080. I'm looking for a card that can be had for $100 or less that will be much, much more powerful than my HD4650. A bang for the buck mid range card pretty much.

My Specs are:

550 Watt Sparke PSU (It's currently 6 years old and still running strong)
AM3 Athlon Regor X2 250 Dual Core Processor
4GB DDR3
1TB WD Black HD and 160GB Seagate HD
23" Widescreen Asus 1920*1080 LED LCD
Gigabyte GA-770T AM3

I've been eyeing out the HD6850 lately Specifically the Sapphire one for $135 on Amazon. It's the same price as the HD7770 but I heard that the HD6850 is more powerful in DX9 which I will probably stick to for a little bit longer (will probably make the switch to W7 and DX11 when I get a quad core Phenom II so hopefully the HD6850 is good at DX11 too).
 
The real issue with PSU's is that they tend to run strong and then fail dramatically. Mostly it depends on the quality of the caps used in the PSU. Good ones will last 20 years, marginal ones used in cheaper PSU's tend to fail within a few years. All of the GPU's you're looking at will be fine as long as the PSU doesn't die unexpectedly due to component failure.

Also keep in mind that either the 7700 or 6800 cards are going to be choked by your current CPU on newer games, so if you end up wanting more performance after the upgrade you'll need to look at something other than videocards first.

Thanks for the advice, the powersupply that I got was of very high quality and very highly recommended (Sparkles was one of the best PSU manufacturers at the time) and I haven; had a problem with it yet so I guess if it isn't broken don't fix it applies here.

I think I'll go with the HD6850, thanks for the advice. The only thing that I disagree with is the bottleneck part, at 1920*1080 I'm going to be very, very, GPU limited. Game engines haven't changed much and neither have graphics over the past 5 years so the Dual Core is fine in that regard but at 1080P Graphics will be the limiting factor even if I was running on an old socket 939 dual core.
