Hi lads I have the following rig and was wondering what I am best placed upgrading next? If it were your money where would you spend it on this machine?

I have been slowly getting premium parts for a while now as my budget allows and was wondering if it were your rig where you would go next. Its mostly used for gaming bf3 dota 2 fm2013 if I am honest but is also a worksation I do make a lot of vector files and cad files for my laser cutter mostly illustator, photoshop autocad and aps ethos on this machine they can be quite tasking but run much better now I have a SSD.




Case- cooler master stacker t101 aluminium full tower

PSU - corsair hx620 modular 620 watt

CPU - q6600 overclocked to 3.6ghtz on custom water cooling full copper block and 360mm black ice radiator mounted in front bays

Motherboard - asus rampage formula x48

Memory- corsair domminator 4gb ddr 2 at 450 x8 fsb

GPU -gigabyte windforce radeon 7950 3gb overclocked at 1100 core 1575 mem

Sound card - asus xonar d1

SSD - intel 520 128 gb

Hard Disks-1x western digital caviar black 1 tb and 1x 200gb samsung spinpoint f3

Optical drive- liteon dvd burner

Monitors-primary samsung 32 inch 1080p tv and secondary samsung 24 inch 1080p monitor

Keyboard - corsair k90 mechanical cherry switches

Mouse - Logitech G9 on razer exactmat with gel support

Game controller- razer onza xbox 360 pad

Speakers - 2.1 aego m

Headset - sennhesier pc360






The rig has served me so well. I have been holding off Motherboard and CPU change for a age but I am happy to stick it out till Haswell since I have waited this long anyway I tend to keep my CPU n Mobo for a long time so any suggestions aside from that.

I was thinking blu ray drive next maybe 2nd SSD but I am open to suggestions.

take a look always nice to see other opinions. Budget around 180 ish been told to use it as x mas present by the lady
 
Pretty much your next best upgrade path is the CPU + mobo + RAM. Those key parts are really holding back the rest of your PC badly. A second SSD or blu-ray drive really doesn't add that much performance to the PC to justify the costs IMO.

Unless you really need a larger SSD for your OS and apps drive, there's not much you can upgrade now that'll provide a noticeable performance or improvement over your current setup IMO. Your PSU, case, SSD, GPU, and HDD are still pretty damn solid.

If you absolutely have to spend that $180 and really don't need a larger SSD, buy more games.
 
Based on your usage I'd say at the very least try and get 8GB of RAM or more in there in the fastest speed possible. I have a very similar setup and that's what I am planning to do. Although since it's DDR2 it may be a better purchase to go ahead and buy a new mobo/cpu/ram if u can afford it.
 
Hmm I agree the MB, CPU, Memory, upgrade would be best but you won't manage that your your planned budget. I wouldn't spend $ on more DDR2 - its way too expensive.

Can you add some $ yourself or maybe check out the 4 sale sections after people upgrade PC's themselves for Xmas?
