Upgrade a little...ATI

If you want to unlock it has to be a 2GB reference card.

He has a 650 watt psu so he will be fine.

I see now about the reference card.
That aside, since it is not that type, would the step up be worth it? I plan to trade my current card and cash for the new one.

No he won't be fine if he has one of the shitty Ultra 650W models.

OP, find out the exact model number of the Ultra 650W PSU that you have. Ultra's PSU quality ranges from shitty to decent depending on the model.

I have the ULT-LSP650P
I am basically looking to buy another"used" PC for sale, it has the
SILVERSTONE DA700 700W ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply
Would this be better? I may just buy that PC to use.

Why are you looking to make such a huge gpu upgrade? Are you a gamer and the 5670 doesnt get the job done? Please elaborate.

I have the ULT-LSP650P
Yeah definitely replace that PSU

That Silversonte would be a good PSU buy depending on the price. What PC are you talking about? Did you mean PSU?

There is a PC for sale locally for a great price. I originally asked if they would swap out the 6950 for my 5670+cash, i have not gotten an answer yet.
Upon further thinking i may just buy they whole package because they are asking below $600 and i would like to use the card, but my girlfriend wants a PC soon too and she does not game. The system for sale is a...
Phenom II X4 965 BE
HD 6950
MSI 890GXM-G65 AM3 AMD 890GX board
PSU from mentioned above. (not the Ultra)
4GB G. Skill Ripjaws X series
Wi-Fi card - Windows 7 original
640 GB Western Digital HDD 7200RPM

I game, not heavy but Left for Dead 2 mainly but i plan to get more into heavy games soon like Witcher, maybe CoD/Battlefield series, then the new Star Wars based MMO(i know processor is more for that), i have been weening myself off console and that's mainly why.

At $600, you're only really saving about $80 to $120 over a brand new built PC with similar specs:
$202 - AMD Phenom II 955 + Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G mATX Motherboard Combo
$40 - G.Skill Ripjaw Series F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
$240 - XFX HD-695X-ZNFC Radeon HD 6950 1GB PCI-E Video Card
$65 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
$76 - Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W PSU
$60 - Cooler Master HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 ATX Case
---
Total: $683 plus tax and shipping

Up to you man if $80 to $120 savings + not having to build the PC yourself makes up for having almost no warranty left on those parts.

Thanks Danny and others, i appreciate your time.
The PC is only 2 months old. They bought to play Rift, didn't stick with it/like it now don't need the PC. It sounds odd but i have a city location and had been offered to come look into it, in it and use it.
If i build from scratch going even lower on price would be an option even. It would be for my girlfriend just to web browse, use Hulu/Netflix, connect to 40" LCD to watch on via HDMI, really no gaming. That's why this idea sounded some what good.
