Hi
i need to update my bios on my P5B-D, but i was wondering if i am going to have any issues with my two raid arrays on the Intel raid controller after the update, will it mess my arrays up?

please if anyone has any ideas on this, please help me out, i have 600+gbs of data that i cannot loose.....

should not affect it at all. after updating the bios, reboot and make sure your bios settings are correct. I have updated the bios in my board 6 times and it uses the same chipset and intel raid controller ICH8R. Per my sig I run a decent sized raid 5.

I have even updated the Intel matrix storage manager and driver with no issues.

I would not do the update thru windows tho, bios file on floppy and use utility built into bios or if not there download burn/update utility and put on floppy with bios file. See Asus help.

glad to hear that, i was planning on putting the update on my thumb drive and use the built in asus update program in the bios.

Wanted to say the update went perfectly, nothing to worry about, but when you have close to a tb on the array, i do not want to mess up....
