My Lenovo Z61m has Radeon x1400 graphics.

The last driver update I can find is freaking 3 years old. That is on the Lenovo website. I can find NOTHING on the AMD site. Catalyst version is 6.14 that is currently installed. SURELY there must be something better. :mad:
 
Try 11.5, but I'm not 100% sure it will work for your card. Best to check the .inf located in Packages → Drivers → Display.
 
iirc, AMD dropped driver support in Windows Vista/7 for the X1000 series and older cards, as they didn't meet certain WHQL specs, or something. Catalyst 9.xx was the last release for older cards.

I'm running XP pro on this laptop.
I can't find anything newer than 3 years ago package 8.593.
 
That's the latest. I reinstalled XP on half a dozen Thinkpad T60s with the same chipset/GPU as your laptops and the latest driver was the one I provided a link for. AMD's site says that mobile drivers prior to x date/version have to be downloaded via the laptop manufacturer's webpage.

I just reinstalled XP on an old laptop running a x1400 also and AMD says they are not supported use the OEM drivers and in this case they are from Acer and the newest are from December of 2008. I didn't look to hard but nothing but old drivers.

Yeah, that is what it is looking like. :(
I know this laptop will not run most modern games (it rocks on HalfLife 2), but there are a lot other games that won't work right that are will within the specs.
