1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming will be it's most demanding use.

2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Whatever the wife will allow, so as little as possible. I'll give details of what parts I'm reusing, the new parts I'm thinking about, and you tell me if there's better for the money or directions you would go differently.

3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Near Chicago, IL.

4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
Motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD. Based on what I'm reusing possibly more.

5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
GPU: HIS HD5770
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-520HX
Case: Antec P180
DVD: Pioneer 16X DVD±R DVD Burner With 5X DVD-RAM Read Black ATAPI Model DVR-111D
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s (Moving to storage)

6) Will you be overclocking?
Down the road 1-2 years, as I did with my current PC.

7) 7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
HP Compaq LA2405wg (1920x1200, 24")
Dell 2007wfp (1680x1050, 20")

8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This weekend if I can convince the wife.

9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
The motherboard is part of a bundle I am considering and has what I'm looking for (USB 3.0, SATA 6, Onboard LAN... I'll link it below.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Judging from what I have, can I install the following parts into my case use my existing PSU:
MB: Intel DP67BG
CPU: 2700k
SSD: Intel 320 160GB
Feel free to suggest RAM from newegg, I am not current on components any longer. I am under the vague impression that 1066 memory will suffice quite well, and would prefer 2x4GB.

The SSD I will be buying from Newegg. The MB and CPU I can get as a combo deal for $255 + tax & shipping. Yes that's why I'm going from not looking to pushing for this upgrade. $255 + $155 (SSD) + ~$45 (RAM) = $455 + a handful for taxes and shipping on the MB-CPU combo.

Good deal? Can you think of something better for the money? I'm all ears.

Wish I could :( It's an employee, limit one, kind of deal. Thanks for the memory recommendation!

Your current PSU will work fine with that awesome deal for the CPU and mobo.

Statement: I can get the CPU for $104. Adding the motherboard costs an additional $150.
Question: Is there a better motherboard for what I need that would cost less than the Intel DP67BG? Important to me are all the things that seem standard now. Onboard audio, USB 3.0, Gigabit LAN, stable for air-cooled overclocking down the road. SLI/Crossfire are not good or bad, I've yet to use more than a single card in any of my PCs.

I have already purchased the SSD, an Intel 320 160GB. I know it's only SATA II but I assume any motherboards for the i7's will include SATA III standard for future purchases. Note that I've been on my current PC (very happily too) for almost four years!

I'm headed to the MB forum now.

At $150, I think that Intel mobo is still worth it due to the incusion of a reliable and faster LAN performance having Intel NIC.
