the title mostly says it....how do i do this without having a floppy drive? i tried burning the bios update and booting from cd, since it has an autoexec.bat, but no dice.

i've searched all over the internet looking for a solution...someone please help :(

the board is a 965p-DS3 rev 1.3 btw

I used an old Win98 SE disc and booted to DOS.
I then used a CD with the bios and flash utility already burned on it and flashed it that way.
Only drawback is that you can't save the old BIOS.

Presumably, you could put the required files on USB stick, if your board supports booting from USB devices. Should work as any other drive, I think.

I do it from Windows using their Windows flashing utils. No problems for me.

Not without help from your mobo. The Windows installer is painfully stupid and always checks for the 3rd party drivers on the A drive, and nothing else. Now, if mobo's started coming with a way to remap the A drive to a USB, that would work. Currently, some mobo manufacturers are using a trick that makes SATA drives appear like IDE ones to the Windows installer, so everything is happy.
