I currently have a rig with a 375W psu with 18A on the 12V rail. Its running a 8800 gts which according to the spec requires at least a 400W psu with at least 26A on the 12V rail. I'm wondering what the drawbacks are, it seems to run everything alright, I feel however that I should be getting better than mid 30s to mid 40s in bioshock. The Gpu also seems to run quite hot, so I'm wondering if its getting enough power to the fans.
Its a Dell so I can't get a better psu, yes I checked that website that sells dell compatible psu and they don't sell one that fits my case.
I am currently considering three different options a video card power supply, an external power supply, or a regular internal psu run outside the case. If anyone has any recommendations on what to do let me know.
