Uncharted 2?

The controls of UC2 feel alot looser than in the first one. It almost makes you move very sloppy. Is it just me or did they change something?

Drake's jumping changed a bit since the first game. It almost feels like they wanted him to be able to spring off of walls but removed it at the last minute.
Also, doing any kind of scripted jumps off of a wall - the game isn't as "automatic" as it was in the first. In Uncharted #1, you just push the stick in the general direction and just keep hitting X to pretty much go anywhere. In #2, they're pretty specific about your direction presses. Plus, there are plenty of ledges and hand-holds that don't lead anywhere...even to a treasure.

I think general movement of the character is pretty much the same.

but I feel that the shooting is missing a bit of "snap" that the first had.

I played coop for the first time last night (been waiting on a friend to get a copy of the game) and I must say it was a lot of fun. I hope they make more maps for it. I think I enjoyed it more than similar modes like horde (gears2) and firefight (odst) it is just lacking in maps.

Ive watched a few videos of this online and it looks great.I havent seen actual gameplay in person tho and it is driving me nuts. The game really looks insane and it is making me want to get a ps3.
For those of you who have beat the game what was your total time in hours and what difficulty?

I saw it has MP but I will only be doing MP on MW2 lol I need to look up some more videos. Is there any general complaints about this game

If you are looking for a challenge, I suggest starting on Hard mode. I played Hard mode, and found it to be just the right mix of challenging yet not tear your hair out frustrating.

I would say on single player alone I have put in about 25ish hours (beat it on both normal and hard) and I plan on beating it at least one more time on crushing (to be realistic I will probably beat it 2-3 more times like I did the first one lol) I have not put that much time into the mulitplayer have been waiting on my friend to get a copy so now that he has a copy I will be playing the multiplayer a lot more. If you never played the first one I would suggest you beat that one first and that will take you about 10ish hours to beat.

If you are planning on getting a PS3 get one on black Friday walmart has a slim for 299 with Batman: Arkam Asylum, inFamous, and Dark Knight (movie) or you could go with Best Buy for a slim plus LittleBigPlanet and Ratchet and Clank for 299.

hard mode is like normal mode for me, normal mode was pretty forgiving.

If you want to make the decision of buying a ps3 solely for the purpose of playing this game, do it, you will not be disappointed.

There isn't as big of a jump up from normal to hard as you might expect. They're really only different in the early going. Late in the game on normal they're pretty much the same. Not sure how or why they do it, but enemies start doing more damage with the same weapons anyway. On the final levels you're dead in 1-2 shots, and hard mode doesn't really change that. In general, with the first 1/2 of the game you'll find that melee and using the "steel fist" move will serve you well. In the later half, you'd better play it like Gears of War on hard.

Anyone still playing MP ?
I like the new damage model. You could take way too much damage before. Feels a lot more intense now.

I play off and on still. There is another patch coming soon as well as a DLC in the works. Least thats what the devs said at the VGAs. More maps and modes and clan support. :)

Been taking a break for a week or two. That 65% health weekend turned me off.

I'm hoping whatever you are talking about isn't as extreme as that or it is a for a separate crushing mode.

I have been playing the hell out of it the last couple of days and really enjoying it. My only complaints are I think the shotguns are a tad bit overpowered with blind fire and I wish they would remove the skeleton models because they can be difficult to see sometimes and I don't think they fit the atmosphere of the game. But other than that I am loving the game and add me to your friends list if anybody wants someone to play with PSN: drewwk

I think shotguns are fine. They are that powerful as you have to get real close for an instant kill. A person running around with a shotgun is basically defenseless at medium to long range. It's the give and take with various weapons that allow for an enjoyable amount of strategy in deathmatch games.

Just finished it again on Hard. I plan on another go through on Crushing. I've only picked up around 60+ treasures, so it looks like I'll be spending a lot of time just looking around for them. That's not bad though since I still enjoy looking at this splendid game and it's wonderful level designs. I can neve tire of looking at it...

There's a lot to this thread and I can't go page by page. But did anyone NOT love the ending dialogue? Best I've heard in ages, imo.

Yeah I'm currently replaying it on hard...mostly just looking for the treasures. I absolutely love the game. After playing SOCOM most of the day yesterday, I'm poking around in the multiplayer today as well. Minor patch came out I see. They also have a 2x money weekend coming up for Christmas which should be fun. Gotta love those :)

So I have been playing the multiplayer for about three weeks now level 40 now and I am reallying enjoying it more than any other multiplayer games I have MW2, GOW2, Halo 3 etc. It is a really solid multiplayer for being their first take at multiplayer. I am excited to see how the multiplayer is in uncharted 3 and think they could start to rival some of the bigger multiplayer franchises. Anyways I used a friends capture card and made a montage video:

Still a work in progress but I think it is pretty decent. Let me know what you guys think.

I picked it up last week, and played the first couple chapters, very nice indeed and it is a lot funner than the first one.
I was thinking to myself at one point, damn this is entertainment at its finest.
I'm hooked now on AC2 but will be getting to Uncharted 2 soon enough.

I gotta say. That jump and no look shoot+instant kill thing is pretty much bullshit.

i just beat uncharted 2 in roughly 9 hours straight through. Its a really good game. glad i bought it

Haha but it is funny :p

Was that one no look kill during cinema mode? I can see why it would look funky but you have control over the camera during playback of a multiplayer game so you can do a ton of no look kills and look bad ass with cinema mode hahaha

During all my playbacks I did not mess with the camera from my point of view. It is the same view I had while I was playing. The only time it was changed was to give a birds eye view of what happen like with the nades. So yes that was a no look kill which I think you are talking about the one on fort where I jumped off the wall and shot the guy behind me. It is funny in slow-mo because you see the bullets go through me and hit him. That shot was 100% BS I am not going to lie lol.

It's hard to see your reticule too so for me when I'm watching you jump and shoot wildly killing guys it's a little "o_O?"

I just beat this game this morning. I absolutely loved it. By far one of the best games I've played in a long time (since FF7). It's a rather interesting story that kept me in it at all times. The ending though... could have used some work. It didn't really seem all that climatic to me. Now I wonder if they'll do a third one?

There's no bullet spray in multiplayer? I see you're laying down full automatic and the reticle doesn't even move.

Perfect montage music! Starting Unharted <1> today, I have some catching up to do!

There is but it does not show during cinema mode playback.
Ah, OK. I never played multiplayer due to the fact that I can't aim worth a shit with the analog stick.

i'm playing the single player, just borrowed the game from a friend

god damn the beginning of the game is pretty exciting, albeit a little cheesy, but it's definitely fun to play through ROFL

Uncharted 2 is definitely one of the best single player experiences in recent years. :p
