This is from my smartphone since desktop has the issues and old laptop isn't working.

What changed: when I was at work our power went out and the energy company installed a new digital meter. Whenever I tried booting the windows logo would just start to from then it blue screened and immediately rebooted. I tried safe mode and it did the same thing. Fixing the installation didn't work also system restore didn't work. Always blue screen before the login screen.

I think I will try wiping the drive - crucial m4 and reinstalling windows 7. Is it possible an electrical surge corrupted my drive? No windows tools fixed it. I used parted magic to check hardware and there weren't any issues.

With trying to fix the system it said it couldn't be done and gave this:

System files integrity check and repair
Result: failed error code = 0x490

It is probably a power surge could have corrupted the SSD. However it also means that there's a chance the SSD is damaged as well.

With that said, make sure to update the firmware of that Crucial SSD.

Firmware was updated on it a couple weeks ago. I don't think the ssd is bad, out checked it fine with parted magic. I will format and install windows tomorrow

everything seems to be running great now, from the reinstall last night

only thing is I forgot to copy my bookmarks, wasn't in the user folder

oh well
