I just recently purchased a gigabyte ud3p motherboard rev 1.6 and have been having trouble overclocking it. The chip I am using had no problems hitting 4ghz on my other UD3P which is a rev 1.1. Is it possible that this motherboard just can't do it? ...or are there different settings on this one that must be adjusted to achieve higher clocks. Heck, even 3.8 is unstable.

I'm at a loss. I've heard that the 1.6's dont overclock as well, but 471fsb doesnt seem like it should be that hard to get. I dunno.

Any help is appreciated.

Oh yeah, bios version is FB. My other UD3P has F9.

if the fix did end up working please post how you fixed it so that others with the same board and having problems that might be searching the forums can find how to fix it as well..

It was the MCH voltage. I never had to adjust it on my other system. I set it to 1.3 on this one and now I'm 4ghz stable. woohoo! I thought I bought a dud.

cool good to see its all working and thanks for posting how you fixed it..
