While Ubisoft literally said nothing about its upcoming VR game, Transference, it did give us a look at a quick video that tells us absolutely nothing beyond wanting the gameplayer to feel like he is in a movie. At least there was a bit of a description on the YouTube page.

Check out the video.

Transference is a psychological thriller and the first game collaboration between SpectreVision and Ubisoft. Bridging the gap between movies and games, we invite you to lose yourself in the destructive tale of a man's obsession as you explore his digitally recreated memories. Experience the limits of techno-psychology and escape a maze-like puzzle concealing a corrupted truth. Get projected into the digital consciousness of troubled case subjects and maybe you will influence their fate. The game will be available spring 2018 in VR and traditional platforms: PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, PS4, Xbox One and PC.

I saw this and the first thing that jumped out at me was that Robin Williams creepy-as-hell film The Final Cut, where he plays a sort-of digital mortician in the future.....feels like the same vibe.....

No idea how this will play out (pun intended) but I'm all for developers trying new things with VR, even if they ultimately fail. There is so much that is possible with it and I'm glad to see we're not just going to get a bunch of shooters.
