Hey everyone,

Im going to buy a new pc very soon..:)
AMD Phenom 2 955 (3.2ghz)
Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P
OCZ (2x2gb 1066mhz) blade edition

And i was wondering.. would a Corsair HX620w will be enough for this system with two HD4890 or will i need the TX750w?
Thanks=)

I think a 620 would suffice but I'd personally go with a 750 just to be on the safe side, especially if you add a lot internal drives and such.

I use a PC Power & Cooling 750W Silencer Crossfire edition. :)
It's a little bit long for a PSU and features only a single rail.
If you want modular, the Corsair HX series has a top reputation.
The TX line is their 'value' line, so the quality might not be as good.
And I'm not sure if it's modular or not.

Im planning to have 1 hard drive and 1 DVD-RW drive..
so will a 620w be enough for 4890 x 2 ?
thanks =]
(btw the modular thing is just a bonus for me, i can settle for non-modular if its really good...)

Assuming that you're using a Core i7 CPU, as long as you do not OC whatsoever and only have one hard drive, the 620HX will be enough for two HD4890 in CF.

But I would recommend something beefier to be on the safe side. You can always get the 750HX or the 850HX PSUs if you want modular.
