Hi (again), could someone take a look at these two bundles and tell me the performance difference please? I know that the 3930k has more cores and that it is overclocked, but leaving that aside what are the other differences that would effect performance if (lets say for eg) that the 3930k was not overclocked, or that the 3770k was overclocked to match the 39.

The 3770K bundle.

The 3930k bundle.

Thanks

If you're doing something that needs more cores, get the 3930k, but if not, get the 3770k. If you don't know if you need it or not, the 3770k is probably good enough for your needs.

I skipped the 3770K due to heat issues. Also I do allot of video and graphics editing and rendering. So I need all the power I can get. If your a gamer the 3770K be your best performance to cost ratio. Also allot of rumor the 2011 LGA is at its end.

I'll go for the 3930K then, I just wanted to make sure that the 3930K was in fact better for what I needed (video rendering).

Thanks

There's hardly a heat issue with an IB unless it's being pushed with a modest bump in Vcore during OC'ing. In fact, they typically run cooler than SB at stock clocks or even with a mild OC in most scenarios.

OP: if you are using rendering software that can utilize all 6 cores and maybe even HT'ing, then I would agree to lean towards the 3930K.
