I have decided that I am going to get one of the following monitors. Please don't try to talk me into anything over the $190. It is all I have, and I don't want to spend a dime over it (edited for political correctness)

They are as follows:

ASUS VH226H

Acer H213H bmid

If there is something in this price range that is 1080P or higher, please let me know. Otherwise, please just give me recommendations on which of the above is "best". (I am aware of the TN panel, and the difference of response times on one of the monitors. But I need to know if the 5ms GTG and 2ms GTG will offer any visible difference)

I'm not sure you'd notice the difference between the two.

different yet both bezels are annoyingly shiny

acer looks like the stand has less depth (that's a plus in my book) but they only list panel depth, not stand depth like the asus unit

OK. I didn't realize they were the same panel. I too was leaning toward the ASUS, and I was looking at the VK266H, but it is too expensive, and I was hoping for a similar panel, but smaller, and no webcam. So thank you for the suggestions. I appreciate it.

Oh, and I'm not anti-semetic, I actually am Jewish xD

I have the Asus VH226H and I don't think you'd be disappointed. It's simply an awesome monitor for the price.

2ms GTG = 5ms... apparently. (the acer isn't measured in GTG (gray to gray)

The acer seems to have touch buttons on the front, which I don't think i would like at all, and one of the reviews I read said they light up and don't turn off during use.

You probably wouldn't be disappointed with either. I'm very happy with my Asus purchase though.

They light up a little after you touch them, but then quickly dim back. Not distracting at all.

I'm not too concerned with the aesthetics, I am more interested in gaming performance. And as long as the images are smooth and ghost free, I do not care what the refresh rate is. (By the way, I will be playing games like Burnout Paradise, Far Cry2, etc.)

O, and do either of these panels support 1:1 pixel mapping?
My Acer H233H has 'aspect' and 'full' options under the wide mode setting in the OSD. If I set it to 1024x768 or 1280x1024, the monitor sets up black bars on its own (w/ video card settings not set to use black bars).

=/ I have no idea if that applies to the H213H..
