I just found out that the new version of WinRAR is dual core aware. Download version 3.61 from www.rarlabs.com Download it and try out the benchmark under tools. I get about 1,165 multithreaded. I get 667 single threaded. Here are my system specs...

E6300 @ 2.8GHz
Gigabyte DS3
Patriot DDR2 667 @ 800 4-4-4-12
Seagate 120GB SATA HDD
Gigabyte X1600Pro Video Card
Sony DVD Burner
Sony DVD Reader
etc...

I get about 660 multi and 485 single

pentium d 805 @3750mhz
Asus P5ND2-sli
Kingston DDR2 533 @ 533 4-4-4-12

forgot to mention.. this is on version 3.60 beta2

Wow. The difference between a Pentium D and a C2D is huge. I wouldn't of thought that there would that much of a difference.

Tried this on my room mates system.. 363 multi and 241 single

version 3.60 beta2

On version 3.61 383 multi and 283 single

2x athlon mp 2600+ @2166mhz
gigabyte mpx
2gb reg ecc ddr2100

on version 3.61, it's about 872 multi and 584 single on my system.

core 2 duo e6300 @ stock (1.86ghz)
asus p5b-vm
1gb single stick apacer ddr2-800
onboard video (128mb shared ram)

I think it was, but I wanted us all to use 3.61 so that we are comparing the same thing.

Well in that case

683 Multi
536 Single

Athlon X2 3800+ (stock)
Jetway A210GMDS-Pro
2GB DDR400

984 Multithread
619 Single Thread

X2 4400+ (939) No OC
2G DR500

I'm on the fence on if it's worth updating to Intel or stay where I'm at for now.

looks like your doing well.. if all you did was use winrar ;)

im right with ya on an AM2 X2 3800 stock, 1G DDR800, Epox MGF6100-M

982 Multi
604 Single

504 Multi-thread and 482 on single thread.

Athlon 64 3800 (single core)
eVga NF4-SLI
1.5gb generic memory
7600gt KO Superclocked

wow, that makes my score highly suspicious for a dual core cpu.

Changed my ram timings a little.. 760 multi, 576 single

pentium d 805 @3750mhz
Asus P5ND2-sli
Kingston DDR2 533 @ 533 3-3-3-9

Changed system so it only uses one core and got 567 for both benchmarks

Why do you think that?

Because my scores are so close like his/hers. Also the clock speed of sn X2 3800+ si .2.0Ghz, and the sc 3800+ is 2.4. But my single thread score is higher than his/hers.

Well.. after fooling around with my ram timings I found out that the lower they are the higher the score in winrar. Maybe you have better ram/timing.

I got 1,288 multi-threaded and 760 single threaded

Specs on my machine:
Shuttle SD37P2
E6600 oc'd to 300fsb = 2.7GHz
G.Skill 5-5-5-12 at 667MHz
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320Gb
eVGA 7950GX2 oc'd to 595/1390

Cool SFF. I was thinking about selling my current SFF to get that schmancy new one that you have. How do you like it? How quiet is it? Pics ? Benchmarks?

Here are some pics / benches of my SFF: PC #2

I'll edit this with the results of WinRar on my main rig when I get home:
PC #1

Stock @ 2.4 :
1239 - multithread
724 - single

Overclocked @ 3ghz:
1276 - multi
734 - single

possible, but enought to make up for 400MHz and not much diferen in SC and DC socres like most of the posts I've noticed?

I'll see if I can find the screenshots of the benchmarks, but I have since detuned the shuttle a little for less heat. 3dMark03 was just over 36k, 3dMark05 was just over 16k, and 3dMark06 was 9,482. It is a LOT quieter than my last ATX computer. The only problem is if you set the fans to the lowest setting to be quiet, it doesn't move enough air and the conroe idles around 45*. With the processor fan a little higher it idles around 42*. Not enough noise difference for me. The fastest fan speed makes it sound like a jet,... keeps the conroe cool though idling around 38* w/ case temps around 34*. I did my 3dMark scores on that setting :D w/ fsb of 320. Anything higher than 320fsb makes the SATA all messed up and won't boot.

My conroe idles at 44 but never tops out past about 56 tops/load so it doesn't seem to matter much. Even at 1.02 voltage with speedstep I idle the same (and I run 1.325 voltage normally).

This bench is definitely sensitive to memory timings, more so than CPU speed or FSB.

maybe.
1695/1082 at 4-4-4-15
1421/814 at 5-5-5-18

at 24/7/ 3600mhz

it varies a couple percent each time i run it. ive been down to 1665 and up to 1700 something.

edit it gets lower each time i run it from a fresh boot 4th try 1651/1033

1371, 811

How long do you let it run? I let it go 200 MB is that enough? Does it ever stop?

x2 4400 @ 2.5GHz

BTW, what does this benchmark REALLY measure? Its seems to be
very memory bandwidth related b/c my score barely went up from 2.4Ghz with ram at 800Mhz vs 3Ghz with ram at 830Mhz.

And the people with the highest score have a high FSB and sometimes slower CPU clocks.

1169 Multi, 599 single

Doesn't look like it can use more then 2 threads, maybe they should rename it single and dual instead of multi...

Dual 5160s, 8 gigs of FB-Dimms in Quad channel, rest of specs in sig.

Something must be wrong with your setup. I have the same stuff and my multi is around 1200 or so.
