Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

does this thing have enough umpha to make a hd4870 x2 work. it says its the minimum required but whenever i plug in the 8 pin adapater my whole computer wont start still not under standing that one
It would help if you provided us with a lot more information like:
- The specifcations of your PC
- Which Antec True Power 650W you have.
- Are you sure that you're plugging in the 8Pin PCI-E plug and not the 8Pin CPU plug?
my experience with antec supplies is that no it isn't going to work with that vid card.
had the 550 modular cabled one a while back and it failed to boot 50% of the time with my x1900xtx and socket 939 x2 4800+ with a miserly 2 Gb of ram and 3 drives. it croaked my motherboard in a week while waiting on my new power supply (my fault for not leaving the damn thing off).
sad thing is the antec power supply still works fine and is now powering my friend's geforce 6800 x2 3800 system. mine was just too much for it and it wasn't even pulling 425 watts, so much for a 550 watt rating...
650 is probably around 550 max peak for that supply and the 4870x2 pulls over 300 watts alone and around 150 at idle so it's 12 volt rail is probably choking on boot.
get a better supply, go for a thermaltake tough power 700 or 650
The 550 and the 650 should suffice but it will be critical of what you have in the sys. My 550 and 650 ran everything fine with four drives with the 4870x2 and a g0 6600. To the poster above just all depends on components mostly, just cause one system does run it fine does not mean the exact same system will also.
